| Details of position: | An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Sterile Services Department (SSD) Manager to join the Project Team managing the establishment of a Joint NHS Decontamination Facility for two large NHS Foundation Trusts (Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh NHS Foundation Trust on a new, dedicated site within the North West.
This is an innovative venture and you will initially be the Commissioning Manager co-ordinating actions of the Technical and Theatres Workstreams tasked with combining two existing services into one seamless service operating from a new off site facility located just off Junction 6 of the M61. This new facility will be processing over 200,000 trays per year plus supplementaries and will be one of the largest NHS units in the North of England. Once the service is operational you will assume the role of the SSD Manager having responsibility for the 80 employees on site and a facility which will provide a decontamination service to 45 Operating Theatres in Wigan and Salford. This is challenging role, with an exceptional opportunity to become involved at the outset with real opportunity to have input into the design and implementation of working arrangements. The role is Banded 8B within AfC terms and conditions and non NHS employees would usually commence employment at the lowest point of the band. However, additional increments may be awarded to a candidate of exceptional calibre and experience in this field. |
| Salary: | Band 8B £44,258 - £54,714 per annum |
